The bank emphasises ensuring wage equality and equal career opportunities. In 2015 Landsbankinn became the first bank in Iceland to be awarded the golden seal of PwC's Equal Pay Audit. The bank's target is to have the share of each gender in the bank's leadership always at least 40%.

It is a guiding principle at Landsbankinn that its activities must show regard for environmental factors, social concerns and good corporate governance criteria. For the past ten years the bank has been a signatory of the UN Global Compact, under which enterprises oblige themselves to show corporate responsibility in their work.
